The Fellowes DS-1 will cross cut up to eleven A4 sheets into confetti-like pieces that are 3.9mm x 35 mm. This is suitable for the home and the small office use and with a bin large enough to hold up to 200 destroyed sheets, you don’t have to empty it every few minutes. The SafeSense technology that this machine utilizes protects you from placing your hands too close to the throat, but happens to be way too sensitive and will often turn off the shredder when your hands are nowhere near the opening. The bin is also large enough and has a pedal that makes it easy to remove, but the shredded pieces often fall down the back of the basket and you will have to clean them. However, if you turn off the SafeSense switch and watch the basket, you will find this shredder very easy to operate and extremely efficient!
