Our Review
The Rexel Alpha is a strip-cut shredder designed for occasional use at home offices or even small offices. It is a personal shredder that strip-cuts sheets of paper( 5 to 6) at a time into thin ribbon strips. Strip cut shredders also known as straight-cut shredders cut paper into narrow strips as per the length of the paper. The shred size of the Rexel alpha is 7.25mm.
It features a 220mm throat which is that part of the shredder where the papers are fed for shredding purposes. The design of the entry slot is such that it facilitates easy entry of paper. The shredder also comes with a safety lock, which puts the shredder in an off mode and prevents accidental activation. It also possesses a 10litre pull-out bin that can be easily emptied. It can hold up to 30 sheets before it needs emptying. Its auto start and reverse feature makes its operation easier. This implies that the device gets automatically started when paper is fed into it. The reverse feature of the device helps in jam clearance. Apart from paper the shredder is also capable of shredding credit cards and the likes.
